(MHN Sports Reporter Jung Seung-min) – Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR, finds herself at the center of mounting challenges ahead of a legal battle involving Belift Lab and Source Music.

On January 9, TenAsia published an interview with Park Jung-kyu, chairman of Dabo Link, shedding new light on allegations of "tampering" involving Min and the NewJeans members.

The controversy dates back to November last year, when rumors surfaced in investment circles suggesting that Min Hee-jin and the members of NewJeans were pursuing new exclusive contracts, allegedly facilitated by Dabo Link's backing. At the time, Min firmly denied these claims, stating, “There is no truth to the rumors that we received investment or signed any contracts.”

However, Chairman Park refuted Min’s denial in the interview, calling it “a blatant lie.” He claimed that during a three-hour meeting with Min, they discussed investment opportunities and strategies for transferring NewJeans out of ADOR. Park also alleged that Min asked him, “Would it be possible for me to take NewJeans with me?” He further stated that he advised Min on the implications for ADOR’s value should she leave the company with the group.

The allegations gained traction as Min Hee-jin stepped down from her role as an internal director at ADOR in November 2023, subsequently leaving HYBE. Shortly thereafter, the NewJeans members held an emergency press conference announcing the termination of their exclusive contracts with ADOR, fueling further speculation about tampering.

Legal Battles Intensify

Min Hee-jin’s legal struggles are set to escalate, with the first hearing in her damage claims lawsuit against Belift Lab and Source Music scheduled for January 10.

Previously, Belift Lab sued Min for defamation and business obstruction after she alleged that its girl group I’LL-IT had plagiarized NewJeans’ concept. Similarly, Source Music filed a damages suit against Min, disputing her claims that they copied NewJeans’ launch strategy.

Workplace Allegations Resurface

Adding to the controversy, Min recently attended a mediation session regarding a separate lawsuit filed by a former ADOR employee who previously accused her of workplace harassment and sexual misconduct. The former employee, identified as “A,” revealed on social media, “Min Hee-jin’s side refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing, so the mediation failed. We will proceed to trial.”

With the damage claims hearing against Belift Lab and Source Music set to begin, the truth behind the allegations surrounding Min Hee-jin remains a contentious issue. All eyes are on the upcoming court proceedings, which could mark a significant turning point in this ongoing saga.
